Half term at Little Haven! Bookings are now live!
Andi-lee is the Chair of trustees alongside her role as building manager at Little Haven, she is also Chair of ... and breathe, a parent/carer support group close to her heart. Which you can learn more about by clicking the button at the bottom of this page.
As a mum of three, Andi-lee understands the importance of creating a welcoming, inclusive space where everyone feels supported and valued. With a passion for the Bettws community, she's always looking for new ways to bring people together, create opportunities and make a difference. Whether she's organising events, working behind the scenes or getting stuck in herself, her heart is always in the community.
We asked Andi-lee a few questions about her involvement with Little Haven and her hopes for the future, here are her answers -
1 - What made you want to volunteer?
I've always been someone who wants to help others, and I've always believed that even the smallest things can make a massive difference to someone. I wanted to be part of creating somewhere people could come together, feel included and know they've got somewhere they belong.
2 - What do you love most about Little Haven?
Definitely the people! Bettws has such an incredible community, and I love seeing everyone come together. Whether it's watching the children enjoying themselves, seeing friendships being made or just knowing we've made someone's day that little bit better, it's what makes all the hard work worth it.
3 - Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I've actually published a book, and I can do a pretty decent Stitch impression! 😂
4 - What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I'm a mum of three boys, so spare time isn't something I get loads of! But when I do, I enjoy gaming, spending time with friends and just having a bit of time to myself. Although, knowing me, I'm probably still thinking about my next idea for Haven!
5 - What are your hopes for the future of Little Haven?
I want Haven to keep growing, not just as a community centre but as somewhere that really makes a difference to people's lives.
Bettws is already such an amazing community, and I want Haven to be somewhere that brings people together, gives people opportunities and makes everyone feel welcome, regardless of their age, background or abilities.
I'd love for Haven to become somewhere people know they can turn to, whether that's for support, friendship, activities or even just a cuppa and a chat.
More than anything, I want us to build something that the whole community can be proud of, something that will still be making a difference for years to come.
