Half term at Little Haven! Bookings are now live!
Kim is the Secretary of Trustees at Little Haven, as well as the administration manager. She is also the secretary of ... and breathe, which you can learn more about by clicking the link below.
As a mum of two boys, Kim has a heart of gold and would quite literally give someone the clothes off her back if they needed them. She's incredibly organised, always willing to lend a helping hand and does her very best to keep everyone going.
Whether she's keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, enjoying a decent cup of tea or getting lost in a good book (and trust us, she's probably read more books than the local library has in stock!), Kim brings kindness, laughter and dedication to everything she does.
We asked Kim a few questions about her involvement with Little Haven and her hopes for the future. Here are her answers!
What made you want to volunteer?
I want to be the change I want to see. There are so many wonderful people out there, doing amazing things to help their communities and I want to be a person that helps others. I love to help others even with a little things, it brings me joy so what better way to help than volunteer at Little Haven and bring others together.
What do you love most about Little Haven?
I love the amazing community of people that come to Haven every day. All the people that volunteer, come to coffee groups, skills classes or just pop their heads in for a cuppa. It makes Little Haven the place it is and where people want to be to build friendships, get support or just to have a natter!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I have a strange habit of letting my ice cream melt before eating it. Depending on my mood, I'll either whisk it into a creamy puddle or leave it until it's thinner than a McDonald's milkshake!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Being a mum to 2 boys, spare time is a luxury but I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board games, colouring or playing a computer game or 2. I love to read, listen to music, cross stitch & spending time with my friends.
What are your hopes for the future of Little Haven?
To continue growing. To ensure the entire community of Bettws knows the name Little Haven and knows it is a safe space they can go to. Not just in a time of need but a space they are always welcome, to have fun, make friendships and grow as a person no matter their age, ability or background.
